Arch Street United Methodist Church
Believing in their duty to be good stewards of their historical building, the Church is engaged in master planning and development campaigns to fund capital maintenance and improvement projects for its historically certified Gothic-style church on the corner of Arch and Broad Streets in Philadelphia. Construction documents are complete and funding is in place for Phases I and II. Phase III is 50% designed and documented. Work on Phases I and II began in June 2009 and is currently underway. The first construction phase is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2010.
- Phase I: Removing asbestos and installing a sprinkler system in the lower level of the church.
- Phase II: Restoration of two stained glass windows on the Arch Street and Broad Street sides of the church.
- Phase III: Expansion of the Narthex of the Sanctuary.
The Church is using restricted and time sensitive grant funding requiring close management of sources and uses of funds.
