Moorestown Friends School Campus Expansion

Moorestown, NJ

Moorestown Friends School is located on 48 acres in the heart of Moorestown NJ. Contiguous classroom buildings house over 700 students from Pre-K to Grade 12. Athletic facilities include seven all-purpose playing fields, two baseball diamonds, five tennis courts, three gymnasiums and a Field House. In 2008, the school purchased the former Greenleaf Retirement facility on Main Street, a property contiguous to the current MFS campus. Five buildings are located on the four-acre property: the Main Building which looks out on Main Street, the South Annex, a two-floor building that the school is hoping to quickly convert to classroom space, and three other houses.

    Client: Moorestown Friends School

    Aegis Role:

Moorestown Friends School retained Aegis Property Group in 2007 to provide comprehensive project management services for their school expansion projects.  Initially this involved organizing a process to support reposition buildings for school use on a recently acquired site that was not contiguous to the campus.  Master planning work was performed, the project team was formed and design services began on conversion of a Acme super market building into an early childhood education center.  These services were put on hold when the contiguous Greenleaf facility was acquired.

In January 2009, the school under Aegis’ guidance repositioned the Acme project team to support a master planning process addressing the Greenleaf acquisition and design process for conversion of a former nursing home on the property into a classroom building.

In addition Aegis leads school summer capital renovation projects with two projects completed in 2008 and 2009 and planning underway for the 2010 project.
